JULY 2020

9 July 2020: After reviewing many hundreds of hours of recordings, we have now been able to identify the origins of both our birds:

The Male was ringed as a chick in Nottingham on 17 May 2008 making him 12 years old.
This is the first confirmed sighting of him.

The New Female was ringed as a chick in Warwickshire on 30 June 2016 making her just four years old.
This is probably her first pairing and is certainly the first confirmed sighting of her.
12 July 2020 – Video: Since the arrival of the New Female on 27 April, the pair have been bonding on a daily basis hopefully in preparation of a successful breeding season in 2021.
25 July 2020 – Video: the new Female making the first effort to remove one of the remaining two eggs from the scrape. This is the first attempt in over a month.
